Cozy Crib

Did any of you pet owners purchase the crib net to keep your cat out of the crib?
Is it worth it?

No, my husband wanted to but I refused. My husband was over paranoid about the cats sleeping with my daughter. We shut the door and turned her monitor on when she slept in her crib at night. Recently he’s loosened up about the cats and HE leaves her door open.
They way I always looked at it was if the cats jump in the crib with her she’s going to cry. that will freak the cats out and they won’t do it again. If we put the net on the crib I know my cats would still try to jump in there but instead they will land on the net. Which will then freak them out which will freak my daughter out. Too much risk if you ask me.
My MIL suggested putting a screen door on her door frame until she got older. I don’t think so.
The cats and the babe have to learn to be around each other. There will be a point that my daughter will pull the cats hair (she actually started that this weekend). The cats will learn not to come around her if they don’t want their hair pulled and she will have to learn no to pull their hair. It’s the only way to live a peaceful life with out nets and screen doors up if you ask me.
PS- the stories everyone tells about cats smothering babes when they sleep is an old wives tale. The only reason why a cat would be up close to the babes face would be to lick milk off their face and if you don’t put them to sleep with a bottle you don’t have to worry about that.
