Essentially, both of these aerobic shoes are about the same thing - the contemporary version of the gym shoe, with plenty of padding, yet still a low top to permit some flexibility and movement at the ankle.
Of course, if you play basketball, you need bigger sturdier aerobic shoe to adequately safeguard your ankle. These are called high tops, and they come up all the way to the top of the ankle. They're great for this sport, because you are repetitively jumping high, bursting into abrupt sprints in different directions, and doing many other things that can wreak havoc onbe very hard on your ankle.
